When will I receive a response to my registration?
After registration, you will receive confirmation of registration by e-mail. You will be contacted by the customer advisor thereafter. You can read how long this takes, here:

Which are the official holiday weeks?
The 12 official holiday weeks are:
- 1 week of spring holidays
- 2 weeks of May holiday
- 6 weeks of summer holidays
- 1 week of autumn holidays
- 2 weeks of Christmas holidays
What if a school has an extra week of holiday?
Did you sign a 52-week afterschool care arrangement before 1 January 2025?
Then you are also guaranteed care during an extra week of holiday on the days when you normally receive after-school care. This arrangement includes all school closure days.
Did you sign a 52-week afterschool care arrangement from 1 January 2025 or do you have a 40-week afterschool care arrangement?
Then you can purchase additional care if available. This can be requested at your centre via the parent portal. You will be informed by staff through the parent portal app if additional care is possible.
Is there a waiting list?
After registering on the website, you will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt. When your registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email. Registrations with a required start date within the next six months will be included into our planning process. The customer advisor will contact you after the initial planning to discuss placement options and possible alternatives. If we cannot offer an immediate placement, your registration will remain on our waiting list. We regularly review the waiting list to identify registrations that can be accommodated. As soon as a placement becomes available, a customer advisor will contact you to discuss the placement.
Do you work with waiting lists criteria?
Yes, we work with waiting list criteria. Each new registration we receive is added to the waiting list and given a priority ranking.
We like rewarding existing customers: they will be given a higher priority on the waiting list. You are considered an existing customer as soon as you have a contract for one or more children.
Sometimes, when a family encounters urgent circumstances, we give their child priority because it's the right thing to do for them and their family.
How does your placement policy work?
Placement depends on several factors:
- Required start date and age of the child
- Waiting list criteria (existing customers have priority over new customers)
- Registration date
In practice, this means that a child is not automatically placed first simply because they have been on the list longer than another child. We offer placements based on our placement policy, that considers factors like age distribution and the availability of pedagogical assistants. This is always done in accordance with the IKK Act (Innovation and Quality in Childcare), which stipulates the number of children per room and group.
The customer advisor would be happy to help with questions about your individual specific situation.
My child goes to daycare and is turning 4. Is there a place for out-of-school care?
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee a placement at the out-of-school-care. To ensure a smooth transition between daycare and out-of-school care, we recommend registering your child at least nine months in advance.
Whether there is room depends on availability according to the placement policy (see Q&A above). Out-of-school care is always linked to the school the child is attending. That’s why it’s not possible to choose from any Korein out-of-school care location on our website.
Is your child changing schools? Then we are dependent on the availability of that specific location. Please note that not every school works together with a Korein out-of-school care.
