These are the services you will receive. For a 52-week afterschool care arrangement signed before 1 January 2025, where the school finishes at, for example, 2:45 pm, this means that your child is welcome for 40 school weeks from 2:45 pm to 6:30 pm and during the 12 holiday weeks or on school closure days, as designated in the school guide, from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm.

If you signed a 52-week afterschool care arrangement from 1 January 2025, where the school finishes at, for example, 2:45 pm, this means that your child is welcome for 40 school weeks from 2:45 pm to 6:30 pm and during the 12 holiday weeks from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. If a school closure day as designated in the school guide falls on one of your contract days, you will have care from 2:45 pm. The hours before 2:45 pm can be requested and purchased as additional care, based on availability, so that your child can attend care for the entire day on a school closure day. Care during these hours is provided according to the rules of the professional childcarer-child ratio.

For a 40-week afterschool care arrangement, where the school finishes at, for example, 2:45 pm, this means your child is welcome for 40 school weeks from 2:45 pm to 6:30 pm. You do not have care during the 12 official holiday weeks.

Your invoice shows you the exact times when your child can receive toddler care.
For example:

  • Toddler care WKO (08:30 - 12:30): your child goes to toddler care in the morning and you qualify under the Childcare Act (WKO). You can apply for childcare allowance at toeslagen.nl.
  • Toddler care N-WKO (08:30 - 12:30): your child goes to toddler care in the morning and you do not qualify under the Childcare Act. You cannot apply for childcare allowance, but you are eligible for subsidy from the municipality. Korein takes care of the financial settlement.
  • Toddler care Advice JGZ does not qualify under the Childcare Act (WKO): your child has an Early Years Statement and goes to toddler care for an extra 8 hours. These extra hours are free of charge.

Do you want to qualify for a subsidy from the municipality? Then you must send us the most recent income data of you and any allowance partner.

Some branches operate varying times. You can inquire about this at the Planning & Advice department at info@korein.nl or by calling 040 - 294 89 89.

You can only pay your invoice by bank transfer or direct debit. If you want to pay by direct debit, please contact us by e-mail: info@korein.nl or call 040 - 294 89 89. We will send you a form with a direct debit mandate for the automatic payment of invoices.

You will receive the childcare allowance from tax authorities in advance. Korein automatically collects the invoice amount on the 3rd of the month in which the care is provided. For example: you receive your allowance from the tax authorities for the month of July around 20 June. The invoice amount for July’s childcare will be automatically debited from your account on 3 July.

The annual statement is issued once a year, at the end of February. When issued, it will be made available in the Parent Portal.

We calculate the actual days per month that are purchased. These actual days are indicated with *. The amount and the number of hours that are calculated are stated next to it.

The amounts are an average per month, calculated over an entire year. We calculate this as follows:

hours of childcare per week x 52 weeks: 12 months = number of hours per month

For example
A Monday from 07:30 to 18:30 = 11 hours per day x 52 weeks: 12 months = 47.67 hours per month

An invoice that is paid in advance and which later on turns out to be incorrect will be credited in full. Next, a new invoice is created.

If the new invoice shows a higher amount to be paid than the original invoice, the difference will be automatically settled by direct debit. This means the outstanding amount will be collected together with the next invoice.

If the new invoice shows a lower amount to be paid than the original invoice, the difference will be automatically settled by direct debit. This means this amount will be deducted from the next invoice that is collected.

Have you opted to organise the payment yourself? In that case, the invoice shows whether you will receive money back from Korein or whether you have to pay extra.
Are you due money back? You can then settle this with the next invoice. Alternatively, you can submit a request to the Accounts Receivable department to have the money refunded. To do so, please send an e-mail to debiteuren@kss.nl.

If you have to pay extra, the payment term on the new invoice applies.

To do so, please send an e-mail to debiteuren@kss.nl. Right now, this is not yet possible via your parent portal.

No, the childcare allowance is transferred to your account by the tax authorities.

You can choose a package that includes or excludes holiday weeks for both daycare and out-of-school care. Korein invoices the annual costs in 12 monthly instalments.

An exception to this is the 40-week package. In this case, the annual costs are divided over 11 instalments. The same applies to toddler care. This too is invoiced in 11 instalments, with the month with the most holiday weeks (July or August) not being invoiced.
